Hiking
Around 300 kilometres of well maintained walking tracks from approx. 800 to 2300 metres in height are spread over the wonderful mountain ranges of the Wildschönau.
More than 40 mountain huts and restaurants are open for a rest on your way to the summits, with the most beautiful views!
For pleasure hikers culinary highlights are aplenty - products from local farmers and alpine breakfasts and snacks included.

Mountain biking and e-biking
The Wildschönau in the Kitzbüheler Alps has mountain bike trails for all levels plus modern e-bike tours. Bikers can experience the impressive Tirolean landscape, the traditional way or with the extra boost of an e-bike. Ideal for all who love nature and biking.
Motorbike holiday
The Wildschönau in the Kitzbüheler Alps is an ideal starting point for motorbike tours in Tirol and South Tirol. From here, plan day tours to diverse destinations like the Dolomites or the Ziller Valley. Particularly interesting are the windy roads in Hochtal, a real highlight for motorcyclists. Off the beaten track are quiet country roads for undisturbed riding pleasure.

The magical winter in der Wildschönau
Rugging up warm, snowball fights and hot mulled wine! That sounds like an awesome winter! When trees are bare and mountain summits turn white, locals start waxing their skiis – because soon they'll be on the piste! Skiing, snowboarding, snow shoe walking, cross-country, tobogganing or simply building a snowman, whatever you like to do in winter, in the Wildschönau it's all possible! For all ski and snowboard fanatics in Skijuwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau, one of the most beautiful ski areas in Austria, there are 109 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes, 25 traditional mountain huts and two funparks. The little skiiers are well catered for in one of the many ski schools and can even be a piste machine co-pilot. For the more leisurely winter holiday makers guided snow shoe walks are offered by the Wildschönau tourist bureau.
From Haus Daniela the ski lift is just a few minutes walk as well as the slope back down! The village centre, restaurants and bars as well as the bus stop for the free ski bus are all close by. Parking also available for our guests.
Skiing & snowboarding
The Skijuwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau, due to the number of kilometres of piste, is one of the top 10 out of 87 ski areas in Tirol and is located in the heart of the Tirolean Alps, the Kitzbüheler Alps. It was developed by merging the Alpbachtal and the Hochtal, Wildschönau ski areas and is perfect for a leisurely or an active winter holiday. There is a total of 109 kilometres of piste and 46 lifts take our guests up to 2015 metres in height. 25 traditional mountain huts invite you to taste the Tirolean specialities, aprés ski bars lure you in with a traditional 'Krautinger' schnaps. The free ski bus is handy for getting between the Nierderau, Oberau and Auffach villages.
Snow shoe tours
Whether it's a guided tour or on your own - snowshoeing is a hit. Choose a level of difficulty according to your fitness condition, there are tours suited to everyone. Snowshoeing is a wonderful experience away from mainstream winter sports and is especially good for "switching off". After a snow shoe tour and visit to the wellness area in Haus Daniela you'll feel sooo good!
Tobogganing
Only a few minutes from your holiday apartment in Haus Daniela is one of the two toboggn runs in the Wildschönau.
The Lanerköpfl toboggan run in Niederau and Schatzberg in Auffach are regularly groomed ensuring several kilometres of exhilarating fun. Easy access to the start via the lift.
All night activities take place in the Roggenboden ski area in Oberau. A flood lit toboggan run and a ski piste are open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:30-9:00 pm.
Ski touring
The Wildschönau in the Kitzbüheler Alps is an insider tip for ski touring. The picturesque Hochtal landscape is an impressive backdrop for tours through snowy forests and over glittering high pastures.
